Nick has practiced in the Vancouver area since his call to the Bar in 1999. He re-joined Quinlan Abrioux in 2024. He has considerable experience acting for both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury claims, and in general commercial matters.
Nick has a keen interest in sports law, especially discipline matters. He has acted as counsel in matters involving archery, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, diving, karate, lacrosse, ringette, soccer, triathlon, and weightlifting. He also teaches Sports & Recreation Law at Capilano University.
Away from the office, Nick is an avid sports fan and participant. His primary sports as a youngster in England were rugby union (regional level), soccer (regional level and youth team of a professional club), and swimming (county level). He played varsity soccer at both SFU and UBC. He has also run several marathons and completed other long distance endurance events, including Ultra520k Canada. In addition, he has coached soccer for most of his adult life. He currently coaches his daughter’s soccer team in Port Moody.
Nick is also involved in the administration of sport. He has occupied various positions in various sports-related entities over the years, such as board member and discipline chair. He has been the Men’s Soccer representative on the Thunderbird Athletic Council at UBC for over 20 years.
Nick is a long-suffering supporter of Sheffield Wednesday FC. He is also a season ticket holder for the BC Lions, and Vancouver FC. He also follows the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks.

Dennis was a founding member QA Law in 1998. Throughout his career, he has practised exclusively in the area of civil litigation, specializing in professional liability, personal injury, insurance and commercial matters. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia including the Federal Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal and has acted as counsel in many complex mediations and arbitrations. Dennis has been a regular lecturer at continuing legal education courses involving a wide range of topics and is a past contributing author for the BC Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Practise Manual.
In 2013 Dennis was appointed Queens Counsel and in 2015 was the recipient of the Lee Samis Award from the Canadian Defence Lawyers.
Recently Dennis has decided to shift his focus to expanding his mediation and arbitration practise as mediator and arbitrator, having taken preparatory courses through Pepperdine University, Continuing Legal Education of BC and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada. The emphasis of his practise is insurance, personal injury and commercial disputes. Dennis is a member of the ADR Institute of BC civil roster of mediators.
