Leilani has practised in Vancouver since her call to the Bar, exclusively in the area of civil litigation with a focus on insurance defence, personal injury and labour and employment law. While attending law school, Leilani was the recipient of a number of awards, including the Anthony Cairo Prize in Professional Responsibility and a Borden Ladner Gervais Summer Research Fellowship. As a finalist in the Canada Labour Arbitration Competition she argued before a panel of the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Leilani has a broad range of court and tribunal experience, having conducted trials before the Provincial Court of British Columbia. She has appeared as co-counsel before arbitrators, the British Columbia Supreme Court, the B.C. Labour Board and the Canada Labour Board. Leilani also appears regularly in Supreme Court Chambers.
